Here at Alaska Pediatric Surgery, we know there’s nobody more important than your little one, and you only want the best for them. That’s why we offer pediatric surgery in Anchorage, to get your child feeling healthy like they should be. But not everything is a medical emergency, sometimes you just need a good movie to watch. To that end, we’ve made another list here of the best kids’ movies.
A Christmas classic, follow Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister, an eight year old boy who got left at the house by the family on their big Christmas trip. Having already left for France, it will be a while before they can get back. To make matters worse, two burglars are trying to break and enter the home! What is an eight year old boy to do? Watch and find out!
Join Robin Williams at his finest as he takes on the role of Daniel Hillard taking on the role of Mrs. Doubtfire, a nanny hired by his ex wife to look after his two children. A little thing like lack of custody won’t stop Daniel, though! But how will he handle showing up to the same party as two different people? You’ll have to watch for yourself.
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
A must see classic, follow Charlie as he lives every child’s dream: a trip through a magical chocolate factory. The eponymous Mr. Wonka is quite the character, and will take you on a wild and lively ride through his factory, including short statured Oompa Loompas, a chocolate river, and floating soda!
This movie hails from way back in 1964, and it’s stood the test of time. The ultimate example of propriety, follow Julie Andrews as Mary Poppins in this exciting children’s tale. Whether you’re dancing with penguins, flying through the sky, or downing spoonfuls of sugar, this movie is sure to delight!
The Parent Trap
Perhaps Lindsay Lohan’s magnum opus, this remake of the 1961 film is a great watch for kids and parents alike. Hallie and Annie are identical twins that were separated at birth. By a miracle of coincidence, they meet and decide to change places. You’ll love all of the hilarious antics that ensue.
Another Christmas entry, Elf follows the delightful story of Buddy, played by Will Ferell. Buddy is a human who was raised by Santa’s elves. At the ripe age of forty something, Buddy finds out about this heritage and makes his way to New York to find his father, a high powered business man. Although not immediately accepted, Buddy works hard to gain the trust of his new family and bring Christmas spirit to the Big Apple.
Hopefully there’s at least one movie on this list you haven’t seen before.
